Peter Džurný
Managing Associate
Peter Džurný has been practicing law since 2009 and in 2014 he was admitted to the Slovak Bar Association. Peter joined Bartošík Šváby in 2015 as senior associate and in 2019 he became managing associate. His primary areas of expertise are real estate law and litigation.
Peter's core practice is focused on real estate law, with particular expertise in leasing of retail and office premises. He provides strategic and comprehensive legal support to owners, developers, and property managers of office buildings and shopping centres. His counsel extends beyond leasing, encompassing day-to-day operational matters, ensuring smooth and efficient management of real estate assets.
Peter also brings notable experience in litigation, particularly in labour and construction-related disputes. He has represented clients in a broad range of proceedings, including cases involving intricate legal and factual issues, multi-party disputes, contested expert findings, and procedurally demanding cases requiring thorough preparation and strategic thinking. In the labour law domain, he frequently handles disputes involving unlawful termination. In construction-related litigation, Peter deals with claims arising from defects, delays, and performance failures.
His construction law experience includes drafting and negotiating complex contracts for work tailored to the specific needs of clients and projects and resolving high-stakes construction disputes. Peter assists clients with structuring legal relationships between project stakeholders—such as investors, developers, contractors, and subcontractors—to mitigate risks and ensure contractual clarity.
Peter is also active in the area of labour law, where he advises corporate clients on issues involving trade unions, labour inspections and whistleblower protection. He provides strategic guidance on workforce restructuring and employee terminations including employees protected by whistleblower legislation, always with an emphasis on minimizing legal risk and maintaining procedural integrity.
