Mariana Bezeková

Senior Associate

Mariana Bezeková obtained her law degree from Law Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava in 2010, followed by a second master’s degree in European Law from Toulouse Capitole University in France. She has been working in the law firm Bartosik Svaby since September 2011. She was admitted to the Slovak Bar Association in 2014 after successfully passing the bar examinations. As a senior associate, she primarily advises clients on labour law, competition law, contract and commercial law matters.

Mariana has extensive experience in Slovak and EU labour law, advising clients on a wide range of employment-related matters. She specializes in drafting and amending employment contracts, preparing documentation related to posting of employees to other EU Member States, and developing internal policies on personal data protection and whistleblowing. She also represents Slovak and foreign employers in court proceedings and administrative proceedings before the Slovak labour inspection.

Beyond labour law, Mariana regularly advises French- and English-speaking clients on competition and commercial law matters. She has been involved in complex commercial transactions, guiding clients through the entire acquisition process – from due diligence and negotiation on transaction documentation to contract signing and transaction closing.

Mariana also specializes in contract risk analysis to identify potential competition law concerns, such as agreements restricting competition and abuse of dominant position. Additionally, she has experience with merger notifications before the Slovak Competition Authority and assessments of the compatibility of state aid with the internal market.

In addition to Slovak, Mariana is fluent in English and French.
