Boris Šváby

Boris Šváby has been practicing law since 2001, providing legal services to Slovak, English, and French-speaking clients in corporate and commercial matters such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, real estate law, corporate governance, and labor law.

Boris has extensive expertise in litigation, representing clients in complex court disputes, debt recovery cases, and settlements. He has successfully represented foreign banks, insurance companies, and construction firms in proceedings at Slovak courts, often dealing with cases involving multiple jurisdictions. Recently, Boris led teams at Bartošík Šváby in representing clients in fraud-related cases, providing comprehensive legal support from criminal proceedings with damage claims, through civil litigation, and up to enforcement of judgments.

Boris has extensive experience in corporate law, especially in the field of mergers & acquisitions and private equity transactions. Boris has a track record of more than 40 significant M&A and private equity transactions involving the acquisition and sale of Slovak companies, both through share and asset deals. His expertise also extends to establishing joint ventures, negotiating shareholder agreements, and structuring acquisition financing.

In the field of real estate law, Boris has advised on several greenfield and brownfield projects, assisting clients with due diligence, land and building acquisitions, and handling the financing of these transactions. His involvement includes working with clients from various sectors, ensuring the smooth execution of real estate deals.

Boris also provides day-to-day legal advisory services to large corporate clients, including Slovak subsidiaries of foreign companies. His work in this area includes corporate governance, contract law, labor law, and delivering legal opinions across various fields.
